When we were planning the wedding, Rachael asked me to simply “order the guest book”. After I spent two full days designing our book, she learned how meticulous I can be with things like this. Especially when it’s my own wedding! I’m not saying that this should have taken me that long to put together, but once I started researching options, and playing around with different layouts and ideas, I got a little carried away… You should also know that I waited until the week of the wedding to order our LayFlat Press Book through Millers Professional Imaging! Luckily, I’ve made best friends with Marsha, and she saved my butt again! She had this album processed, printed and delivered in 48 hours! What?! Sure, there are other great print companies out there, but you can’t beat Millers customer service! That is why I’ve been a loyal customer for this long!

I used a mix of photos from our proposal and engagement session by Edmund Prieto, as well as pictures from our time together in Ethiopia. I wanted to make our guest book unique, and walk you through our story from start to present.

I wanted to encourage people to leave notes, both long and short, so I included short messages at the tops of some of the pages that prompted specific topics. For instance, on one page I wrote “Where do you see us in fifty years?”, and on some others I integrated excerpts from our wedding vows. People got a kick out of this, and it was really fun to flip through and read what ours guests wrote!

We settled on the 10×10 lay flat book with a satin cover and 20 sides/10 pages.

Now that I have seen first hand what a hit a creative guest book can be at a wedding, I have started offering it to all of my couples! If you’re looking for some good ideas, I hope this post was helpful!
