Kelly contacted me a few weeks ago saying that her and her fiancé, Mike, wanted to do a last minute engagement shoot in Dallas. We are always up for an adventure so we found an open date on all of our calendars and made the oh so familiar drive on I-35 North. Kelly and Mike have such an amazing story—they were both born in Florida, lived in Atlanta and moved to Dallas where they finally crossed paths when a friend introduced them, a very good thing since it seems like they were always meant to meet! They both work in the hotel business and over the last few years Kelly has been commuting to Austin for her job doing Marketing at Barton Creek Resort while Mike works in Dallas at the Four Seasons. As a result, they know the route to Dallas Love Field Airport well enough to do in their sleep as they typically are there twice a week dropping/picking each other up.
We all met at Kelly + Mike’s house and then headed to Love Field for a really fun session! They were good sports as it was a really cold night but the inside of the airport was much warmer! We concluded the shoot in Highland Park Village with the beautiful Christmas lights! It is really fun to get to go on shoots together as a husband + wife because by the end of it, we typically feel like we have gone on a double date with the couple because we have so much fun! Who knows…there are a rumors going around that I may be thinking about picking up a camera myself so that Geoff isn’t the only one having all the fun. Until then…Enjoy! -R
