We made a trip to Dahley to meet some friends and to take a look an ongoing project in the village. While walking around, it isn’t unusual to acquire a large following of children. My favorite thing about this image, is that I didn’t even have ask this boy to pose. And yet I feel that it tells his story so well.
During my stay in Ethiopia, it is not my goal to post images that focus solely on the hardships and poverty that often get the most attention among the media. But instead, I want to convey a message of hope, and life. Ethiopians are some of the kindest, loving and most hospitable people I have ever met. It distresses me that many these characteristics are often not accurately depicted by the media. Don’t get me wrong… This country is in desperate need for many of the things that we take for granted, but I have come to believe that the Western World could learn a thing or two if we were only willing.
