Epiphany is a popular Ethiopian holiday, celebrating the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River. We were excited to celebrate the holiday in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, with several of our friends. One week has passed since we first arrived, and we now have three weeks left. Most of our time has been spent resting at the guest house, and reconnecting with our friends. This visit is particularly special for Rachael & I, because it is the first time that we have returned together since first meeting in September of 2010. We purposefully left our schedule open, allowing time to re-focus and pray for direction throughout the year. -G
“The moment Jesus came up out of the baptismal waters, the skies opened up and he saw God’s Spirit—it looked like a dove—descending and landing on him. And along with the Spirit, a voice: “This is my Son, chosen and marked by my love, delight of my life.” (Matthew 3:16-17) The Message
