For this blog post, I thought I would mix it up a bit and do something different. One of the reasons for doing so, is because I am currently in NYC, and the other is just because I want to keep you on your toes. I recently went through some of my older photos, and spent some time retouching the original files, because I thought I could do a better job than I had when I originally processed the images. The photos I am choosing to show you were taken during a portrait session with my friend Emily in Fayetteville, AR late in 2009. I had just purchased my first set of off-camera lighting equipment, and needed a model to help me practice. For both of these images, I used a 580 EX II speedlight, a set of pocket wizards, and a convertible umbrella. Check it:
