When I’m out shooting, I try to keep my eyes open and pay close attention to the environment and my surroundings. I learned pretty early on, that there are no such things as ‘perfect days’… at least none that I have been able to predict! As the atmosphere, may it be ambient light or weather change during a shoot, I try not fight against it, but instead work to use it to my advantage! Keeping an eye on my surroundings, taking note of light patterns, shadows, textures, reflections and other miscellaneous details is something I practice and helps keep my eye trained and sharp throughout the year. This has proven useful when working in a fast paced environment, such as a wedding. The photo below was taken during a recent engagement session in East Austin with Jennifer & Jeremy. Sunset’s like this help remind me just how wonderful an artist our creator is, and make me want to never miss another sunset again!
